USTB Professor ZHANG Dawei Have Won the AMPP Fellows Honor

Prof. ZHANG Dawei, Director at the USTB Office of International Affairs and Professor at the USTB Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology, has been selected for AMPP's Fellows Honor. The AMPP Awards is a benchmark for outstanding achievements in the industry, awarded to institutions, enterprises, and individuals with outstanding achievements in the field of materials protection and performances to recognize their remarkable accomplishments in academic research, technological progress, teaching practice, guidance, and leadership, etc., one of which is the AMPP Fellows Honor.

Prof. Amir Eliezer, Board Chair of AMPP, and Dr. Raul Rebak, Chair of the AMPP Awards Program Committee, sent a letter to Prof. ZHANG Dawei to express congratulations and pointed out that AMPP highly praised Prof. ZHANG's dedication, leadership, and innovative spirit as well as his significant contributions to the field of material protection and performances.

Prof. ZHANG Dawei, Professor of the USTB Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology, Executive Deputy Director of the Marine Corrosion Protection Technology Committee of the Chinese Society of Corrosion and Protection, Deputy Director of Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Materials Genome Engineering, Chairman of the International Advisory Committee of Association for Materials Protection and Performance, Deputy editor of periodical Corrosion Science, as well as the editorial board of top journals in the fields of MGE Advances and npj Materials Degradation. Prof. ZHANG mainly engaged in research on intelligent corrosion-resistant material technology, including intelligent anti-corrosion/antibacterial coatings, data-driven corrosion-intelligent evaluation methods, high-throughput corrosion characterization technology, etc. He has published over 200 SCI papers, with more than 11,000 citations (h factor 58). He has been awarded the Young Scientist Award for Materials Genome Engineering. As the first accomplished person, he has been awarded the first prize in natural science and the second prize in metallurgical science and technology by the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection.
