President YANG Renshu Led a Delegation to Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province to Deepen Inter-School and Enterprise Collaboration

On December 7th, Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, led a delegation to Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province. They visited Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (JXUST) and China Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd. (REGCC) to learn about the development of the university and enterprise and engaged in in-depth discussions with responsible officials to promote collaboration further. Prof. HUANG Wunan, Vice President of USTB, and other officials participated in the visit.

Signing Ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement

At Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, both sides held a Signing Ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement and organized an exchange meeting. Prof. YANG Bin, Chancellor of JXUST, Prof. LUO Xianping, Vice Chancellor of JXUST, and Prof. TANG Yunzhi, Vice President of JXUST, attended the meeting.

Prof. YANG Bin delivered a speech

Prof. YANG Bin expressed gratitude for the long-term support provided by USTB. He pointed out that USTB is the first institution of higher learning in the steel industry established in China, renowned as the “Cradle of Iron and Steel Engineers.” USTB has made significant contributions to the development of the metallurgical materials industry and the modernization of construction in China. He hoped that USTB would leverage its educational advantages and characteristics and further strengthen collaboration with JXUST in first-class disciplines, technological platforms, scientific research, and talent development. Both universities collaborated to promote the high-quality development of China's non-ferrous metal and steel industry.

Prof. YANG Renshu delivered a speech

Prof. YANG Renshu remarked that Jiangxi University of Science and Technology is an important talent cultivation and research base for China's non-ferrous metal industry, having distinct characteristics and advantages in rare earth, tungsten, copper, lithium, and other fields. Both universities were formerly under the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, establishing a solid foundation for cooperation and fostering a deep partnership. He expressed the hope to implement further the important educational insights of President XI Jinping and the spirit of his important speech on inspecting Jiangxi. Prof. YANG Renshu hoped to deepen cooperation, foster collaborative innovation, and continue advancing the high-quality development of education in both institutions. Both universities work together to make new and greater contributions to serving national strategies and regional economic and social development.

The Exchange Meeting

At China Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd., a discussion meeting was held where Mr. AO Hong, Chancellor and Chairman of REGCC, Mr. LIU Leiyun, Vice Chancellor, Director and General Manager of REGCC, Mr. YANG Guoan, Vice Chancellor, Director and the Trade Union President of REGCC, Mr. XIE Zhihong, Deputy General Manager of the company, attended the meeting.

Mr. AO Hong delivered a speech

Mr. AO Hong warmly welcomed President YANG Renshu and his delegation, emphasizing that USTB possesses robust research capabilities, and its advantageous disciplines such as mining, metallurgy, and materials, align well with the industrial focus of China Rare Earth Group. He expressed that there is extensive potential for collaboration and hoped that both sides would enhance communication and coordination. He urged further deepening of cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation, scientific research, and technology transfer, aiming for mutual development, win-win outcomes, and collective efforts to contribute to high-quality development.

Prof. YANG Renshu highly commended the positive achievements that China Rare Earth Group has made. He expressed the commitment to continue leveraging USTB's research expertise. He emphasized the deepening of collaboration in areas such as research project partnerships and talent cultivation, further integrating industry and education, and strengthening cooperation between the university and the enterprise. The aim is to provide talent support and technical services to contribute to the high-quality development of China Rare Earth Group.

During the visit to Ganzhou, Prof. YANG Renshu and his delegation also visited the National Rare Earth Functional Materials Innovation Center, the China Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd. Xijingu Industrial Promotion Center, and Ganzhou Xitu Youli Technology Development Co., Ltd. for observation and inspection.
