On the afternoon of March 22nd, the opening ceremony of the Institute of Solid State Chemistry of USTB was held in the Engineering Practice Base. Mr. WU Guilong, Chancellor of USTB；Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB; Mr. JIN Rendong, Director of Department of Asset Management; Mr. KE Hongyan, Associate Director of Department of Asset Management; Prof. CHEN Jun, Dean of School of Mathematics and Physics; Ms. ZENG Fang, Chancellor of School of Chemistry and Biological Engineering; Prof. LI Zhengping, Dean of School of Chemistry and Biological Engineering; Prof. XING Xianran, Director of The Institute of Solid State Chemistry and representatives of student and teacher attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. LI Zhengping.
Ms. ZENG Fang delivered a welcome speech and extended warm congratulations on the opening of the Institute of Solid State Chemistry. She wished that the Institute would take this as a new starting point and reach a higher level. She also expressed that the School of Chemistry and Biological Engineering will continue to fully support the vigirous development of the Institute.
Prof. XING Xianran made a brief introduction on the basic status of solid state chemistry and the establishment status and construction objectives of the Institute.
Subsequently, Mr. WU Guilong, Prof. YANG Renshu, Prof. LI Zhengping and Prof. XING Xianran jointly inaugurated the Institute of Solid State Chemistry of USTB.
The Institute of Solid State Chemistry of USTB was established in April 2019 and specializes in the frontier research of solid state chemistry and interdisciplinary research, such as the synthesis of new solid substances, crystal structure, local structure, solid functional membrane materials, negative thermal expansion and novel physical properties. The Institute aims to gather a group of talents from home and abroad, build itself into an internationally renowned and domestic leading research base for solid state chemistry, make original achievements in the frontier and cross-fields of the world, and cultivate a group of outstanding young scholars.
