On October 28, Professor Tarl Prow, Vice-Chancellor of the University of York, led a delegation to visit USTB and had in-depth exchanges on talent cultivation. Vice President WANG Luning attended the meeting.

WANG Luning extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the University of York. He pointed out that the two sides should continuously strengthen and deepen the connotation of cooperation by maintaining ongoing exchanges and collaboration. He emphasized that talent cultivation is the core task of deepening cooperation. He hoped that this visit would serve as an opportunity to conduct in-depth discussions on aspects such as the construction of the curriculum system in the region of mechanical engineering, as well as the exchange of teaching staff, and further enrich the content of cooperation.

He stated that the University of York attaches great importance to its cooperative relationship with USTB and looked forward to further enhancing the joint talent training program between the two universities based on the existing cooperation.

During the discussion, both sides focused on the core issue of talent cultivation and exchanged opinions in depth. They reached preliminary consensus on the next cooperation plan and innovative models for talent cultivation.
In the afternoon, the delegation held a meeting with the relevant officials from the Department of Student Affairs and the Office of International Affairs to fully exchange views on student affairs management and student joint training. During the exchange, both sides not only reached a preliminary consensus but also further determined the core tasks and implementation steps.
Subsequently, the delegation went to the School of Mechanical Engineering to conduct in-depth discussions on student training plans, faculty exchange, and other topics, then visited the relevant laboratories of the School of Mechanical Engineering.
This visit not only strengthened the existing cooperation achievements between the two universities but also pushed the collaboration to a deeper level. In the future, the two sides will continue to work together to jointly set an example for Sino-British cooperation and exchange.
