Led by Vice President WANG Luning, the USTB Delegation Visits Sweden and Germany

From October 12 to 19, Prof. WANG Luning, Vice President of USTB, led a delegation to visit Sweden and Germany. During the visit, the delegation met with leaders from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, RWTH Aachen University, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the University of Cologne. The delegation also visited the Chinese Embassy in Sweden, aiming to deepen pragmatic cooperation in the international higher education.

Visiting KTH Royal Institute of Technology


In Sweden, the delegation went to KTH Royal Institute of Technology, with a particular focus on visiting laboratories related to materials science. Prof. WANG Luning stated that this visit serves as a pivotal opportunity to deepen the friendship and expand cooperation between the two universities. He expressed the hope that both sides would work together to promote the implementation and actual outcomes of collaborative projects, injecting strong and new driving force into China-Sweden higher education cooperation.

Visiting the Chinese Embassy in Sweden


The delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in Sweden, where they met with Counselor HUANG Liqiong. Prof. WANG Luning provided a brief overview of USTBs capital construction and its achievements in international education in recent years. Counselor HUANG Liqiong introduced policies of Swedish higher education internationalization and key areas for China-Sweden university collaboration, offering crucial guidance for USTBs future exchanges with high-quality Swedish educational resources and expansion of cooperation dimensions.

Meeting with USTB Alumni at RWTH Aachen University


During the visit to Germany, the delegation visited RWTH Aachen University and had a cordial exchange with USTB alumni. The delegation gained in-depth insights into the alumnis overseas study and life experiences, listening to their valuable experiences in academic research and career development. The alumni expressed their gratitude for their alma maters cultivation and affirmed their commitment to actively serving as a bridge to contribute to the high-quality development of USTBs education.

Visiting Karlsruhe Institute of Technology


The delegation visited the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and met with directors from KITs International Department and School of International Education. Both sides engaged in in-depth exchange and reached consensus on topics including joint talent cultivation and scientific research project collaboration.

Visiting the University of Cologne

In addition, the delegation visited the University of Cologne and met with Prof. Sanjay Mathur, Member of the Academia Europaea and Director of the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry. Prof. Sanjay Mathur highlighted his team's groundbreaking progress in the field of materials science. Prof. WANG Luning elaborated on the current development situation of relevant disciplines at USTB and initial cooperation intention, expressing the hope that both sides could deepen collaboration, jointly promote substantive progress in cooperative projects, and contribute to innovation and development in the field of materials science.


This visit constitutes a significant measure in USTBs active advancement of its internationalization strategy. Moving forward, USTB will continue to intensify cooperation with world-renowned universities and research institutions, comprehensively elevating the level of internationalization and overall strength to make greater contributions to cultivating globally competitive high-level talents and promoting scientific and technological innovation.
