On May 25, the closing ceremony and carnival of the 2025 Mental Health Season, themed “Nurturing Minds Through Beauty, Empowering the Future with AI,” was held at Wuhuan Square on the campus of the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). More than 200 student representatives and staff members from relevant university departments participated in the event.

Closing Ceremony of the Mental Health Season
During the opening session, GAO Yan, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department, reviewed the achievements of this year’s Mental Health Season. He noted that USTB has consistently prioritized mental health education and regards the annual Mental Health Season as an important platform for fostering psychological well-being among students. This year, the University introduced an innovative “AI + Mental Health” model, integrating technology and artistic expression to create interactive experiences that enhanced mental health literacy and strengthened the campus mental wellness culture.

Performance at the Event
The closing ceremony featured a variety of artistic performances that reflected the event’s theme and spirit. A solo performance of the traditional Bowl Dance captivated the audience with its elegance and grace. The University Choir delivered a heartfelt rendition of The World’s Gift to Me, while the Ethnic Dance Troupe presented Blooming Pomegranate Flowers, a vibrant performance celebrating cultural diversity and unity. Together, these performances created a warm, uplifting, and inclusive atmosphere for participants.
Following the ceremony, a themed carnival transformed the venue into a comprehensive mental health education space featuring four major sections: an exhibition area, an interactive experience area, a redemption area, and a stage performance area.

Carnival Activities at the Event
The exhibition area showcased outstanding achievements from the Mental Health Season and highlighted the work of the Psychological Education Center and participating departments. The interactive area featured 27 themed booths and 37 innovative activities jointly organized by the Psychological Education Center and faculty counseling stations across the University. Many activities explored the integration of artificial intelligence and mental health education.
One of the most popular attractions was the “AI Art Gallery” organized by the Sunshine Psychological Association. Using AI technology, the exhibition reinterpreted famous artworks such as Mona Lisa and Starry Night, while interactive games encouraged participants to engage with both art and technology in creative ways.
The School of Mathematics and Physics hosted the “Messages from the Heart” postcard station, where students shared aspirations and words of encouragement. The School of Materials Science and Engineering organized a traditional lacquer fan workshop, attracting many participants eager to experience the blend of craftsmanship and creativity. Other interactive activities, including the “Mood Message Board” and “High-Five for Positivity” booths, further enhanced engagement and brought energy and laughter to the event.
The stage area also featured an improvisational theatre performance jointly presented by the USTB Psychological Association and the Coconut Silk Theatre Group from the School of Psychology at Beijing Normal University.
Through role-playing, interactive games, and spontaneous performances inspired by everyday situations, participants learned valuable psychological concepts in an enjoyable and engaging environment. The activities encouraged emotional expression, active listening, communication skills, and teamwork while deepening students’ understanding of mental health.
The event was organized by the Psychological Education Center of the Student Affairs Department, with support from the Sunshine Psychological Association and counseling stations across the University. By combining exhibitions, interactive experiences, and artistic activities, the Mental Health Season not only concluded successfully but also promoted the implementation of USTB’s holistic educational philosophy aimed at fostering students’ intellectual, moral, physical, aesthetic, and labor development.
Looking ahead, the Psychological Education Center will continue to organize lectures, workshops, counseling programs, and other initiatives to promote mental health awareness and support the healthy development of students both academically and personally.
