Recently, Paul French, Chief Strategy Officer of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and his delegation visited the Institute of Advanced Interdisciplinary Science and Technology of our university for a research and exchange visit. Academician Zhang Yue of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the World Academy of Sciences, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Metallic Materials, and Dean of the Institute of Advanced Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, attended the meeting.
Paul French and his delegation sought comprehensive guidance from Academician ZHANG Yue on the continued leadership of global nanoscience frontiers and the next-stage development of academic journal initiatives, reflecting the continuously strengthening cooperation between the two sides and their high level of attention to the international development of nanoscience at our university.

Exchange symposium
ZHANG Yue stated that the Institute of Advanced Interdisciplinary Science and Technology has long been committed to cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and innovative talent cultivation, and will continue to promote international scientific cooperation and the transformation of research achievements in the future. Regarding cooperation matters such as the organization of high-level international academic conferences, the development of high-quality academic journals, and support for scientific research talent, ZHANG Yue and KANG Zhuo exchanged in-depth insights and constructive opinions on issues of mutual concern, including industry–academia–research collaboration, journal promotion, expansion of editorial boards, and interdisciplinary integration.
Paul French expressed appreciation to Academician ZHANG Yue for his significant leadership contributions to the high-quality development of RSC journals and the field of nanoscience. He highly valued the multifaceted cooperation between the Royal Society of Chemistry, University of Science and Technology Beijing, and the institute. He stated that both sides should continue to deepen cooperation in journal development, academic publishing, and scholarly activities, enhance the international influence of Chinese scholars in academic publishing and exchange, and jointly contribute to the advancement of scientific research and talent development.
