On June 26, University of Science and Technology Beijing held its 2026 graduation and degree conferment ceremonies for undergraduate and graduate students at the university gymnasium. More than 6,000 graduates and over 4,700 family members attended the ceremonies, which were also livestreamed online.

The ceremonies featured youth concerts, graduation videos, award presentations, and heartfelt tributes to teachers, families, counselors, and university staff. Outstanding graduates, recipients of the Qihang Scholarship, graduates serving in western and grassroots regions, and winners of the 20th President’s Medal were also honored.

Graduate representatives and alumni speakers shared their memories of studying at USTB and encouraged the Class of 2026 to carry forward the university motto of “Seeking Truth and Promoting Innovation.” They called on graduates to remain resilient, grateful, and committed to contributing their knowledge and strength to society.

President LYU Zhaoping delivered remarks at both ceremonies, congratulating the graduates on completing their studies and encouraging them to stay true to their aspirations, embrace change with confidence, and pursue long-term growth with perseverance and responsibility.

After the ceremonies, graduates walked onto the stage to receive the symbolic turning of the tassel. USTB also arranged commemorative photos for each graduate as a special graduation gift from their alma mater. The ceremonies concluded with the university anthem, “Ode to the Cradle,” marking a warm and memorable farewell for the Class of 2026.
