On January 11, 2026, the Tianjin Alumni Association of the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) successfully held its anniversary gathering.Organized by the Association, the event brought together over 20 alumni and guests, representing cohorts from the 1970s through the 2020s. United by their enduring connection to their alma mater and shared friendships, participants reminisced about their time on campus and exchanged views on future development, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.
At the opening of the event, FAN Yaran, Secretary-General of the Tianjin Alumni Association, read aloud a congratulatory letter from the USTB Alumni Association. The message conveyed the Association’s sincere support and best wishes for the continued growth of the Tianjin Alumni Association.
KONG Weijun, President of the Tianjin Alumni Association, then delivered a keynote speech. He first conveyed the greetings and best wishes from the leadership of USTB Tianjin College, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the Alumni Association and Tianjin College for their ongoing support. He also reviewed the Association’s achievements over the past year and extended sincere thanks to all alumni who have contributed to its development.
In outlining the work plan for 2026, KONG Weijun emphasized:“The alumni association is a warm home for all alumni. Regardless of position or title, anyone with a passion for serving fellow alumni can become a vital part of this community.”His remarks resonated strongly with attendees, reflecting the inclusiveness and sense of belonging fostered by the Association.
During the event, Vice Presidents WANG Zhenwu, ZHU Xueqiang, ZOU Shubiao, QI Shengli, LI Guofeng, and YOU Lianwang, along with Secretary-General FAN Yaran and Deputy Secretary-General BAI Songlin, took turns introducing areas in which they could provide support based on their respective professional expertise and resources. Their presentations helped build a solid foundation for resource sharing and collaboration among alumni.
HAN Xiaojun, a senior alumna, YANG Guoguang, President of the Binhai New Area Sub-Association, WANG Jiansheng, an enthusiastic sponsor of the event, as well as alumni representatives from various cohorts, also shared their reflections. Participants fondly recalled their years on the Manjing campus and discussed their personal and professional journeys after graduation, further strengthening the bonds of alumni friendship.
QI Shengli, Vice President of the Association, delivered a thematic presentation titled“Forging the Spirit, Empowering Growth, and Addressing Challenges.”He introduced his concept of “cognitive immunity” and a service-oriented system designed for enterprises. Proven effective in practice and officially copyrighted, the framework not only supports business development but also contributes to the personal growth of alumni, earning wide recognition from participants.
The anniversary gathering concluded successfully in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Attendees noted that the event provided a valuable platform for exchange, allowing them to reconnect with fellow alumni while exploring new opportunities for collaboration. They expressed sincere appreciation for the thoughtful organization of the event and looked forward to future alumni activities.
