From June 17^th to 22^nd, at the invitation of the People's Government of Miluo City, more than 10 foreign teachers of USTB, including Professor Alberto Conejo, the winner of the Chinese Government Friendship Award in 2021, participated in the 19^th Miluo River International Dragon Boat Race.

The Dragon Boat Race uses 22-person-standard dragon boats for the competition. Eight international dragon boat teams, including foreign teachers and foreign students from USTB, Tongji University, Beijing Normal University, Central South University, Xi'an International Studies University, China Foreign Language Publishing and Distribution Bureau, and other institutions were invited to participate in the 500-meter straight race.

In the end, USTB foreign teacher team ranked third in the group competition and won the "Excellent Organization Award" awarded by the organizer. The awarding ceremony was also broadcast on the screen of the special program of China Central Television.

This event, as part of the 2023 Hunan International Cultural and Tourism Festival and the commemoration of the 2300^th Anniversary of QU Yuan's martyrdom, aims to commemorate the 2300^th Anniversary of the death of patriotic poet QU Yuan, strengthen international cultural exchanges, promote the spirit of dragon boat with a fighting attitude, and write a beautiful chapter of "Source of Dragon Boat Festival, Hometown of Dragon Boats and Poetry".

During this trip, USTB's foreign teachers also visited Orange Isle, Hunan First Normal University, YANG Kaihui's former residence, Yuelu Academy, Quzi Cultural Park, and other scenic spots. This activity responds to President XI Jinping's call to "Seeing is believing, travel around China and get a more in-depth understanding of the real China". This trip to Hunan, a land that has played an important role in the History of China, enables USTB foreign teachers to become outstanding global talents who understand and are friendly to China.
