USTB Leaders are Active in Visiting Enterprises to Create Employment for Students During the Summer

The leadership team of USTB earnestly implements the decision and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on the employment work of college graduates. Based on the Hundred Enterprises and Thousands of People - Visiting Enterprises to Promote Employment (hereinafter referred to as the “Special Action”) carried out by the leaders in the previous period, USTB continued to promote the Special Action during the summer vacation, exerting the spearhead role of leading cadres to promote employment for all students and helping graduates achieve fuller and higher quality employment.

On July 6th, Prof. WANG Luning, Vice President of USTB, led a team to visit CSCEC-TAISEI CONSTRUCTION (Beijing), LTD.

Since all USTB staff entered summer rotation on July 4th, seizing the window of improvement of the epidemic, members of USTB leadership led teams to Nanjing, Hefei, Taiyuan, Urumqi, Xi’an, Yantai, Changzhou, and many other cities in China to carry out Special Actions. The leadership visited local party and government agencies such as the CPC Taiyuan Municipal Committee and Yantai Municipal People’s Government, enterprises in the steel industry such as China Minmetals Corporation, NISCO, BAOWU, MAGANG, ZENITH, XINJIANG JOINWORLD and Northwest Institute for Non-Ferrous Metal Research, and key units in national strategic areas such as SMIC and CXMT, and visited a total of 62 employing units. The in-depth implementation of the special action has built a platform for matching supply and demand for graduates’ employment and further promoted the construction of the distinctive employment market at the university and college levels. By improving the employment resource development mechanism, the cooperation between the university and enterprises in the areas of talent training and transportation, scientific research cooperation, and transformation has been deepened, forming a new scenario of complementary advantages and win-win cooperation between the university, government, and enterprises.

In March 2022, USTB issued the plan of  "Special Action for Leaders to Visit Hundreds of Enterprises and Thousands of People · Visiting Enterprises to Promote Employment," setting the action target of “Hundreds of Enterprises and Thousands of People.”  The USTB leadership, both at the university and the school level visited employers to deepen the cooperation between the university and enterprises and match supply and demand. Since the implementation of the Special Action, USTB leaders have taken the lead and its staff has actively participated. By August 31st, the whole university had visited a total of 211 employers and 1,185 staff members had participated. Among them, members of the USTB leadership team took the lead to visit 105 employers, and members of the school leadership team participated in 434 visits, creating more than 1,000 employment positions. This forms a working environment in which the whole staff focuses on employment and promotes employment, ensuring that the job market is supplied with quality and quantity of jobs, and making every effort to secure good employment.
