USTB Leaders Visited the Frontline Staff and Students Stayed in School During the Winter Holidays

On the morning of February 11th (Chinese New Year), Chancellor WU Guilong, President YANG Renshu, Vice President WANG Weicai, ZANG Yong led two groups of staff from relevant functional department visited the Department of Campus Security, the Department of Facilities and Maintenance Management, the University Hospital and other faculty and staff who stick to the frontline service posts in the school, and greet them with New Year’s best wishes.

The students expressed their gratitude to the school for making them feel at home and warm during the Chinese New Year.

They said that President XI Jinping’s reply letter gave them confidence and strength, helped them overcome the impact of the epidemic and their homesickness. Study hard and concentrate on scientific research, they hope to devote themselves to the construction of “Belt and Road Initiative” and contribute their wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

It is reported that to ensure the normal study and life of students staying in school, USTB created a series of warmth programs. First, USTB enhanced accommodation, catering, bathing, hairdressing, shopping, medical care, and other living security. Library and gymnasium continues to open during the winter holidays for students. Second, USTB set up a temporary working group, improve the daily safety and health report system, the building registration system to e ensure the safety of students staying in school. Thirdly, USTB carried out heart-warming activities, such as online experience of Beijing New Year folk culture, Spring Festival photo-taking activity, and “a letter from home” activity to enrich the life of students staying in school during the Chinese New Year. To convey care and concern, the school also prepared personalized New Year’s Eve gift packages, design and distribute exclusive greeting cards, Spring Festival couplets, and red scarves. On New Year’s Eve, USTB provided free New Year meals for students who staying at school, so that they can feel the warmth of home.
