Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the recipients of the 2020 Excellent Young Scientists Fund, including Dr. FU Huadong from USTB.
Dr. FU Huadong, an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology (IAMT) and Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Materials Genome Engineering, is committed to researching machine learning for materials design and process optimization, controlled solidification and controlled forming of superalloys, the compact process and efficient preparation & processing technology of high-strength and high-conductivity copper alloy, and the intelligent design, preparation and processing technology of metal materials. Dr. FU also works as deputy secretary-general of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Materials Research Society and is a member of the Youth Editorial Board of the International Journal of Minerals, Metallurgy and Materials , Journal of Matrials Engineering , and Special Casting & Nonferrous Alloys . He has presided over more than 10 scientific research projects including those under the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key R&D Program Project, and the Beijing Excellent Talents Project. He has obtained 16 national invention patents, two of which have demonstrated industrial applications. Dr. FU has also received honorary titles including Beijing Sci-tech Rising Star, Beijing Youth Talent, and Excellent Youth Sci-tech Award, as well as the first prize of Sci-tech Award by CNIA.
