Salute to Nurses: Vice President WANG Weicai Visited USTB Hospital

On May 12, 2020, the 109th International Nurses Day was officially held. The theme for 2020,  Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Nursing the World to Health , celebrated the hard work of nurses, especially during the pandemic period. On behalf of USTB, Vice President WANG Weicai visited the USTB Hospital and expressed his appreciation to all nursing staff. Leaders of the hospital and the entire nursing staff attended the celebration.

Mr. WANG expressed his heartfelt gratitude and respect to all the nurses who worked hard amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The formation and training of nursing teams should be regarded as the foundation of a strong healthcare system. Furthermore, we should tell nurses’ stories to put them up as role models, and support excellent nurses to remain in their career for the long-term. In this way all the people may come to understand the value of nursing staff.

On behalf of the Labor Union, Mr. JIA Shuiku thanked the nurses for their selfless devotion. During the pandemic, the nursing staff demonstrated love, responsibility, and a humanitarian spirit in working to heal the sick and save lives.

Ms. GUO Jie, honored as an outstanding nurse in Haidian District, Beijing, expressed her thanks to USTB on behalf of all the nurses. She said that they just did what they ought to do and had no regrets in dedicating themselves to serving the people. Additionally, they would continue to work hard to fulfill the hopes and needs of the USTB community.

Ms. LI Sujun, on behalf of the University Hospital, thanked the USTB leadership and the labor union for their words of appreciation. She spoke of how the hospital thought very highly of the nursing team. She went on to say that the desire to serve patients was rooted in the nursing group’s humanitarian values. In the future, the hospital will continue to strictly adhere to their responsibility of providing love, patience and care to each patient, and make greater contributions in fighting the war against the pandemic and safeguarding the health of the community.
