On November 8th, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation officially released the list of the 66th batch of general program funding, with a total proposed funding of 310 million yuan to be awarded to postdoctoral researchers across the country. According to the report, USTB ranks 3rd among Beijing universities and 25th among Chinese universities for the number of postdocs chosen by the Foundation. 32 postdoctoral researchers will receive funding, including 4 first-class grants and 28 second-class grants, totaling at 2.53 million yuan in funding.
The China Postdoctoral Science Fund is used to support scientific research at the postdoctoral level. It aims to promote outstanding postdoctoral researchers with development potential and innovation ability to carry out cutting-edge research while cultivating interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and strategic postdoctoral talents. The China Postdoctoral Science Fund is allocated to provide general support, special support, and support for publishing excellent academic monographs.
Grant funds from the China Postdoctoral Science Fund includes start-up or supplementary funds for postdoctoral researchers to engage in independent innovation research during their tenure. The funding is divided into two levels: first class and second class. The standard grant for natural science funding is 120,000 yuan for the first class and 80,000 yuan for the second class; the standard grant for social science funding is generally 80,000 yuan for the first class, and 50,000 yuan for the second-class.

Funding for the publication of outstanding academic monographs from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation is allocated to encourage postdoctoral researchers to publish the research results obtained during the period of their research in the field of natural science. The monographs are compiled into a postdoctoral library, granted an independent book number and published by the science publishing agency. The standard funding grant is 60,000 yuan per monograph on average.
Postdoctoral funds can be applied for 5 times per year, including 2 special funding grants (for pre-station and at station), 2 general funding grants, and 1 grant for publishing excellent academic monographs.
