Today is the first day of the new semester. Early in the morning, snow put a new white clothes on the quiet campus of USTB. Under the falling snow is the coming spring, which is not far behind.

In the empty classroom, the familiar bell rang. Although there are no students in the classroom, the teachers’ serious and rigorous attitude is undiminished.

On the morning of March 1^st, Mr. WU Guilong, Chancellor of USTB, Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB and Prof. XUE Qingguo, Vice President of USTB came to the Department of Academic Affairs and the teaching site to check the online teaching on the first day of this semester.

It is learned that in the spring semester of 2021, USTB has set up 2,166 undergraduate courses. 437 courses have started on the first day of the semester, and 332 teachers have set up courses online.

The students are also learning carefully online. Learning always takes a lot of effort, but nothing is impossible for a willing heart.

In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China, Beijing Municipality and the school, students will attend online courses through the internet in the spring semester of 2021 and will not return to school for the moment. In order to ensure the online course as scheduled and running smoothly, relevant departments of USTB planning actively, defined nodes step by step in the winter vacation, and made specific arrangements on the online course teaching plans, teaching disciplines, teaching supervision and so on.

The Department of the Academic Affairs and the Graduate School have issued work requirements for many times, made unified arrangements for undergraduate and graduate teaching, organized the training of teachers for online teaching, and overhauled classroom equipment to ensure the smooth progress of online teaching. All the teaching units in the school combined the needs of teaching and the actual situation of teachers and students, formulated the online teaching plans, established a smooth communication channel between teachers and students, and ensured the smooth progress of the school online courses, providing a solid guarantee for the operation of the teaching work.
