The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing from October 17^th to 18^th. This is an important meeting to build internationally friendly cooperation and high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road," hand in hand, to achieve common development and prosperity, leading to a better future. In this conference, 39 volunteers of our school undertook the key work of 5 positions, and the cumulative volunteer service time exceeded 1,000 hours. The volunteers provided high-quality, professional, and all-round volunteer services to the delegates and media journalists from all over the world with sincere smiles and an earnest attitude, which became an important link to ensure the success of the event.

USTB attaches great importance to this volunteer service work and has set up a special working group to carry out recruitment, selection, training, and guarantee work. Through the strict recommendation and selection process at the two levels of the university, 39 outstanding volunteers from 15 schools of USTB with excellent political quality, outstanding ability and quality, and rich volunteer experience stood out.

From September 24^th to 25^th, the volunteers received a two-day training, which enhanced their ability and confidence to do a good job in volunteer service security in eight classes, including activity overview, concept education, international relations sorting, volunteer service concept reconstruction, communication skills and basic etiquette, mental health adjustment, religious habit popularization, and experience summary sharing.

Training sessions

From October 15 to 18, volunteers of USTB were divided into 3 groups to volunteer in shifts. The volunteers were familiar with the route of the functional area in advance, spontaneously formed a "media vocabulary learning group," "medical knowledge learning group," and "forum common sense learning group," and continued to work during the shift breaks. The information consultation of the integrated service desk, the temporary tasks of the office area, the operation guarantee of the public work area of the media, the language service of the medical room, and the real-time translation of the worship room. The volunteers strive for perfection during the rest in order to ensure that the work is perfectly done, and the volunteer service gold card of USTB is polished with practical actions.

During the Forum

In recent years, USTB has actively responded to the call of the state and organized students to participate in the service and security work of the national home diplomacy and large-scale competitions. We have participated in the volunteering work of large-scale events such as the 70^th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in 2019, the 100^th anniversary of the founding of the CPC in 2021, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services, and the 2023 World Robot Conference.
