In order to celebrate the 73^rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, thoroughly study and implement the spirit of President XI Jinping's reply to the senior professors at USTB, and welcome the upcoming 20^th CPC National Congress, USTB carried out a series of practical learning activities from Oct. 1^st to Oct. 3^rd, organizing a group of 1,400 students and teachers to visit Tiananmen Square, the Historic Exhibition Hall of the CPC, Xiangshan Museum of the Founding of New China and “Forging Ahead in the New Era” themed exhibition held at the Beijing Exhibition Hall.

On October 1^st, Prof. SUN Jinghong, Vice Chancellor of USTB, led 200 students and teachers to Tiananmen Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony, sending their blessings to the country at the first scene. With the first light of the morning, the bright five-star red flag rose slowly in the wind. Standing on the viewing platform of Tiananmen Square, young students and teachers witnessed the sacred moment when the national flag was raised seriously. They sang the national anthem with high respect and great pride together to wish the motherland prosperity.

On the afternoon of October 1^st, USTB organized 200 teachers and students to study and practice in the Museum of the Chinese Communist Party. Through the magnificent 100-year history of the CPC through precious cultural relics, detailed archives, and vivid pictures and videos, They further realized the great history and brilliant achievements of the CPC, felt the revolutionary history of the Party and the epoch-making changes in New China, further understood the path of the Party's unswerving struggle, further understood the great spirit of the founding of CPC, firmed their ideals and beliefs, and fulfilled their original mission.

On the morning of October 2^nd, 200 teachers and students went to the Xiangshan Museum of the Founding of New China for learning and visiting activities. At present, the exhibition is the only large-scale exhibition in China that comprehensively demonstrates the glorious history of the period when the CPC Central Committee entered and stationed in Xiangshan. It consists of five different themed exhibitions. The exhibition shows more than 800 pictures and over 1,200 cultural relics that lead teachers and students to recall the revolutionary history, understand the revolutionary spirit, witness the glorious history of the CPC leading the people of all ethnic groups to complete the historical mission of national independence and people's liberation and usher in a new era of Chinese historical development.

On the morning of October 3^rd, USTB organized more than 800 teachers and students to visit the achievement exhibition themed " Forging Ahead for a New Era" in the Beijing Exhibition Hall. The exhibition treats the governance of the CPC with President XI Jinping as its core since the 18^th National Congress of the CPC as its principal line, focusing on the great achievements and changes in the cause of the Party and the country in the new era. It not only shows the new situation of the cause development but also reveals the power and momentum behind the changes. It not only shows the political and ideological guidance of the CPC in the new era but also reflects the good image of the vast majority of the people who work together and start their own businesses. Under the introduction of the narrator, all teachers and students visited the exhibition in six different parts and felt the great achievements and changes for the cause of the country and the Party in the new era in an all-round way.

The learning and practice activities of celebrating the 73^rd National Day are an immersive experience of patriotic education, which further stimulates the patriotic feelings of teachers and students.
