USTB Held the “Who's Still Standing” Competition for the Knowledge of University History

To strengthen students' understanding of the school's history of culture and development, on the occasion of the school's 71st-anniversary celebration, USTB held a unique competition of knowledge of the school’s history named “Who's Still Standing.” The topics of the questions covered our USTB’s historical evolution, basic information, development status, cultural norms, etc.

The “Who's Still Standing” competition is sponsored by the USTB Student Work Department and undertaken by the Student Work News Agency; the competition kicked off in the lecture hall of the USTB Library. Mr. XING Huachao, Associate Director of the Department of Public Affairs and Communications; Mr. LIU Zhen, Associate Director of the Department of Student Affairs; and Mr. LIANG Zhiyang, Associate Secretary General of the Youth League Committee of USTB, attended this activity. Fifty contestants from different schools and units participated in the competition.

Fifty competitors competed together to celebrate the 71-year history of USTB, showing the pride of the students of USTB. The competition is carefully designed in three parts: “Who’s Still Standing,” “Points Competition,” and “Final Competition.”

In “Competing for Points,” there were 20 multiple-choice questions. The competitors answered the questions through clicker, and the promotion depended on their score and time spent on the questions.

"Final Competition" section

In the “final competition” stage, the competitors strived for the prize through the responder. The competition also set a “funky questions” section, in which students were randomly selected to participate in various forms of interaction.

Awarding ceremony

After fierce competition, FAN Yibing from the Institute of Engineering and Technology won first prize for her solid theoretical knowledge and stable psychological quality, WEI Bin from the School of Intelligence Science and Technology, YANG Lijia from the School of Advanced Engineering the second prize, and the third prize respectively, QIU Yujie from the School of Materials Science and Engineering and other seven people won outstanding individual honors.

This competition event provided various forms of questions and is highly interesting, making the learning of USTB history knowledge active and alive, inspiring students to love and honor the school, and carrying forward the school motto of "Seeking Truth and Promoting Innovation.”
