On the afternoon of May 7, the opening ceremony of the 11th campus marketing competition of the “Qin’an·Xinrun Agricultural Corporation Cup” was held simultaneously in USTB and Qin'an County. The opening ceremony was held at both a main venue and branch venue, with additional online participation. Leaders of relevant enterprises and cooperatives in Qin'an County attended the activity, and nearly 7,000 students, guests and members of the media participated in the online portion of the ceremony.

In her speech, Prof. WU Sen, Secretary General of the Party Committee, Donlinks School of Economics and Management, said that by the end of 2020 the goal is to have won the battle of poverty alleviation in all aspects. She exhorted young students to actively participate in the great career of poverty alleviation and shoulder the mission and responsibility of college students in the new era. She continued saying that the purpose of the competition is to cultivate and improve students' all-round abilities in innovation, marketing, expression and communication. She hoped that the participating students would apply what they have learned and practice hard, be down-to-earth and innovative, dare to take on responsibilities and take positive actions, participate in the competition to help the poor, and work to enhance their practical skills.

Mr. LI Qiang, directer of Bureau of Commerce in Qin'an county, introduced the development of poverty alleviation in Qin'an County. He said that the competition actively connects with leading industry figures and provides all-round support for poverty alleviation and industrial development in Qin'an County, which will help to further broaden the marketing potential and brand influence of Qin'an fruit. Mr. WANG Bin, a private enterprise representative, introduced the situation of the fruit products. He hoped that the participating students could make full use of their professional expertise to fully explore and promote their products and help the development of the fruit industry in Qin'an. LUO Shiyang, the leader of the champion team of the competition, shared the marketing experience and called on the students to contribute their wisdom and love to the farmers in Qin'an.

Prof. QUAN Liangzhu, Vice Chancellor of USTB, encouraged the participating students to strengthen their ideals and beliefs, cultivate their patriotism, inherit the spirit of USTB, shoulder the responsibility of their generation, cherish their precious time, practice and improve their skills, strengthen self-discipline, follow scientifically-based measures to protect yourself during the epidemic , and write a glorious chapter in helping Qin'an County out of poverty.

After the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. HU Ling of the Donlinks School of Economics and Management conducted an e-commerce skills training session for the teams of participating students and the leaders of relevant cooperatives in Qin'an County.

It is reported that for the first time, the competition paired teams of college students with local farmers to carry out marketing activities, resulting in the formation 55 teams with more than 280 students signing up to participate.
