On Nov 29^th, the meeting for establishing the 4^th Editorial Board of the Metal World journal was held online in Beijing. Prof. MAO Xinping, a member of the Chinese Academic of Engineering and the Editor-in-Chief of the Metal World; Dr. WANG Xinjiang, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Chinese Society for Metals (CSM); Ms. GAO Huanzhi, Vice President and Secretary-General at the Non-ferrous Metals Society of China (NFSOC); Prof. WANG Luning, Vice President of USTB; all members of the 4^th Editorial Board, members of the USTB Journal Publishing Center, and relevant personnel of the Metal World participated in the online meeting. Dr. LI Jie, Director of the USTB Journal Publishing Center, presided over the meeting.

Dr. WANG Xinjiang, Ms. GAO Huanzhi, and Prof. WANG Luning delivered speeches on behalf of the organizers of the Journal. They expressed the importance of popular science journals and their expectations for the new Editorial Board, and they also expressed their wishes to continue supporting the Journal's development. Dr. WANG Xia, Chair of the Editorial Board, reviewed the past accomplishments of the Metal World and reported the future work ideas and direction of efforts.

Prof. MAO Xinping, the newly-elected Editor-in-Chief, read out the constitution of the Editorial Committee, organized a discussion, and voted to approve the constitution of the Editorial Committee of the Metal World. Prof. MAO Xinping made a concluding speech at the meeting. He said that the Editorial Board would firmly fulfill the essential tasks entrusted by the country, get better and better in the popularization of science in the new era, and continuously expand the social influence, coverage, and reputation of the Metal World.
