On May 10^th, Ms. WAN Rong, District Major of Rongchang District, Chongqing City, led a delegation that visited USTB for communication and exchange. Prof. JIAO Shuqiang, Vice President of USTB attended the symposium. Mr.YANG Zhiguo, Associate Dean of the Department of Technology Transfer presided over the symposium.

Prof. JIAO Shuqiang extended a warm welcome to Ms. WAN Rong and her delegation on behalf of USTB. He said that USTB was born and prospers on iron and steel and has developed into a national key university focusing on engineering and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. A large number of scientific research achievements have played an important role in the construction of the national economy and obtained huge economic and social benefits. He hopes to combine the characteristics and demands of the Rongchang District with the industrial and resource advantages to achieve high-quality development.

Ms. WAN Rong introduced the construction of the Rongchang District. She said that the District has a rich culture and is located at the golden junction of the Chengdu-Chongqing axis. It is the "bridgehead" of the construction of an economic circle in both regions. With the rapid development of the industrial economy, it has built industrial systems such as new materials, intelligent equipment, information technology, and biomedicine.

She said that the Rongchang District attaches great importance to technological innovation and the integration of government, industry, university, and research, and hopes to strengthen cooperation with USTB to promote the industrial technology upgrading and transformation of the Rongchang District.
