Recently, the project "5G and TSN Collaborative Transmission Theory and Key Technologies Adapted to Industrial Automation" was selected as a Key Project of the "Network Collaborative Manufacturing and Intelligent Factory" as part of the 2020 National Key R&D Program. The project is led by the team of Prof. WANG Jianquan, of the School of Automation and Electrical Engineering, USTB, who was also newly-selectedto be part of the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program".It is the only university-lead project in the 5G research field in the 2020 National Key R&D Program.

Prof. WANG Jianquan's teamhas long focused on advanced mobile communications technology, 5G and industrial network collaboration, and 5G applications research in industrial sectors. Members of the team have many years of R&D experience in both the private sector and academia, as well as experience in promoting cooperation among industries, universities and research institutions. Members of the team have led and participated in over ten national level programs or disciplines, have been authorized over one hundred patents, and been awarded several prizes such as the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award and the China Institute of Communications Science and Technology Progress Award.

The "5G and TSN Collaborative Transmission Theory and Key Technologies Adapted to Industrial Automation" project is led by USTB, with participating institutions including the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, the Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, ZTE Corporation, China United Network Communications Co., Ltd., and the Beijing Dongtu Technology Co., Ltd. Aiming to address theoretical research, equipment R&D and demonstration applications, the joint team has a solid theoretical foundation and rich experience in both product development and cross-industry applications in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, 5G/6G and the industrial Internet.

The project aims to bring together enterprises, academia and researchinstitutions. Its achievementswill provide an important theoretical and key technical foundation for the integration and application of 5G/B5G andtheindustrial Internet, and greatly enhance the research strength and influence of USTBin the field of 5G industrial Internet, and createnew methodsand ideas to develop USTB's engineering disciplines.
