On February 3^rd, the scientific research exchange meeting between USTB and AnSteel Information Industry Co., Limited (hereinafter referred to as ASIIC) was successfully held at Techart Plaza, USTB. Participants of the meeting include Mr. WANG Tao, the General Manager of ASIIC; Mr. CHEN Baihong, Chief Expert at ASIIC; Mr. YUAN Ye, the Manager of the IoT Business Division, ASIIC; Mr. WU Shengtian, Deputy Manager of the Automation Business Division, ASIIC; Prof. ZHANG Weidong, Vice President of USTB, and Director of the Technical Support Center for Prevention and Control of Disastrous Accidents in Metal Smelting (hereinafter referred to as “the Center”); Prof. XU Jinwu, former President of USTB and General Advisor at the Center, other leaders and experts from the Center, the USTB Department of Technology Transfer, the USTB Collaborative Innovation Center of Steel Technology, and the USTB Design and Research Institute Company Limited. The meeting was presided over by Prof. YANG Jianhong, Deputy Director of the Center.

On behalf of USTB, Prof. ZHANG Weidong extended a warm welcome to the experts from ASIIC. He pointed out that USTB has maintained close cooperation with ASIIC for many years. The two sides have cooperated in a series of research projects and achieved fruitful research results, which have accumulated a deep friendship. All relevant units of the university should take the spirit of the 20th National Congress of CPC and the important reply from President XI Jinping as the lead and work closely with ASIIC in the fields of scientific and technological R&D, talent cultivation, technology exchange and transformation of results, etc., to make the cooperation between the two sides a model for university-enterprise collaboration within the industry, and contribute more to the innovative development of the iron and steel industry, green and low-carbon development and high-quality development of the industry.

Mr. WANG Tao highly affirmed the achievements made during the cooperation between USTB and ASIIC. He said that the automation transformation of ASIIC has been basically completed, the construction of information technology is gradually scaled up, and the work of digitization and intelligence has just started. In this process, top-level design and organized scientific research are urgently needed, and it is hoped that the exchange and cooperation with USTB can be further strengthened.

Subsequently, Prof. XU Jinwu gave a themed report on scientific research. The participating units of USTB also introduced their basic information and research business directions, respectively. The two sides fully exchanged views around key business areas through special reports and group discussions.
