On September 26^th, Prof. DENG Jun, Chancellor of the Guilin University of Technology (GLUT), Prof. WANG Dunqiu, President of GLUT, and other relevant personnel visited USTB for communication and exchange. Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB; Prof. LYU Zhaoping, Vice President of USTB; Prof. SUN Jinghong, Vice Chancellor of USTB; Prof. ZHANG Dalin, Vice Chancellor and Secretary General of the Discipline Inspection of USTB, and Prof. ZHANG Weidong, Vice President of USTB attended the activity. The symposium was presided over by Prof. LYU Zhaoping.

Prof. YANG Renshu made a speech

At the meeting, Prof. YANG Renshu extended a warm welcome to the delegation from GLUT and introduced USTB in detail. He pointed out that the two universities have a deep history in the field of metallurgical engineering, and USTB is marching towards the goal of building an internationally renowned, world-class university with distinctive characteristics. He hoped that the two sides would further strengthen cooperation and that GLUT would be built into a high-level, domestically renowned university of science and technology with distinctive characteristics as soon as possible.

Prof. DENG Jun thanked USTB for its warm reception and introduced the school-running pattern and discipline construction of GLUT. He pointed out that GLUT hoped to learn from the valuable experience of USTB so as to promote the development of the university further.

The symposium

Relevant personnel of the Organization Department of CPC, Office of Talent Affairs, Office of Strategic Planning, Department of Technology Transfer, Department of Academic Affairs, and other departments of USTB made detailed introductions around the themes of faculty team construction and talent work, discipline construction, scientific and technological innovation and serving local economic and social development and promoting the construction of new engineering disciplines, new medical science, new agricultural disciplines, and new liberal arts.
