On September 27th, Prof. Masato Kurabayashi, Vice President of Josai International University (JIU), Japan, led a team to USTB for communication and exchange. Prof. LYU Zhaoping, Vice President of USTB; Prof. ZHANG Dawei, Director of the USTB Office of International Affairs; Prof. CHEN Hongwei, Dean of the USTB School of Foreign Studies (SFS); and Prof. WANG Shuwei, Chair of the SFS Department of Japanese Language and Literature attended the exchange meeting. The meeting was presided over by Prof. CHEN Hongwei.
Prof. LYU Zhaoping expressed a warm welcome to the delegation of JIU and introduced the school's characteristics in “Double First-class” construction and its development path for internationalization. He hoped both sides would discuss and work together for new development opportunities, expand educational exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and build a bridge for teachers and students to communicate and exchange.
Prof. Masato Kurabayashi expressed thanks for the warm welcome and introduced the basic information of JIU. He hoped both sides would further strengthen their cooperation and constantly create new prospects for educational cooperation between the two countries and the two universities. After the meeting between university-level leaders, some teachers and students from the Department of Japanese Language and Literature had a communication and exchange with the Japanese guests.

USTB signed a cooperation agreement with JIU in 2018, and since then, both sides have kept a close cooperation relationship with each other, conducting "2+2" and "3+1" undergraduate programs and "1+1" postgraduate joint training programs. Until now, over 60 students from USTB majoring in Japanese have gone to JIU for exchange and study and have obtained bachelor's and master's degree certificates.
