From May 16^th to 18^th, Prof. LV Zhaoping, Vice President of USTB, led his delegation to visit the USTB Shunde Innovation College, South China University of Technology (SCUT), in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, and Central South University (CSU) in Changsha, Hunan Province, to carry out research and survey.

At the USTB Shunde Innovation School, Prof. LYU Zhaoping and his delegation visited the relevant laboratories, learned about the scientific research and learning of teachers and students, and then had a discussion with the school leaders, teachers, and postdoctoral representatives on improving the quality of talent cultivation, building a high-level faculty team, a high-level scientific research platform and the challenges facing the construction and development of the School.

At South China University of Technology, Prof. LV Zhaoping and his delegation exchanged views with Prof. XU Xiangmin, Vice President of SCUT, and relevant personnel of the SCUT International Office. The work experience and practice of SCUT in faculty management, teaching staff construction, talent introduction, and other aspects were discussed in detail. Prof. LYU Zhaoping thanked SCUT for its comprehensive and detailed work introduction and pointed out that SCUT and USTB are both excellent universities in engineering and have a high degree of commonality in career development. He said that in recent years, SCUT focused on the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as an important talent center and innovation plateau, in-depth implementation of the strategy of "strengthening the University with talents" and the "Action to improve the teaching staff,” and made many achievements, which has a great inspiration for USTB's related work.

At Central South University, Prof. LYU Zhaoping and his delegation had a discussion with Prof. JIANG Jianxiang, Vice President of CSU, and relevant CSU personnel about the multi-campus discipline and talent layout, high-level international cooperation and exchange, and other work. Prof. LV Zhaoping expressed gratitude to relevant leaders and comrades of CSU. He pointed out that CSU and USTB are affiliated universities of the former Ministry of Metallurgical Industry with similar traditional advantageous disciplines. In recent years, the overall development level and sustainable development ability of CSU have been continuously enhanced, especially in the aspects of overseas talent introduction and high-level international cooperation and exchanges, and there is a lot for us to learn from. He hoped the two schools would continue strengthening cooperation in related work and their traditional friendship.

Relevant personnel from the USTB Department of Human Resources, Office of Talent Affairs, Office of International Affairs, and the Shunde Innovation College accompanied the research and survey.
