On April 28^th, Mr. ZHAO Jintao, Executive Director and Vice President of Zenith Steel Group Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Zenith Steel”), and Mr. WANG Ying, President Assistant and General Manager of Zenith Steel, visited USTB for communication and exchange. Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB; Prof. MAO Xinping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Dean of Institute for Carbon Neutrality of USTB; Prof. ZHANG Weidong, Vice President of USTB, attended the meeting, the meeting is presided over by Prof. ZHANG Xiaofeng, Dean of USTB Department of Technology Transfer.

He highly appreciated the efficient promotion and implementation of university-enterprise cooperation with Zenith Steel, and USTB is willing to contribute to the future development of Zenith Steel. He pointed out that the two sides should conduct scientific and technological innovation guided according to the needs of enterprises and centered on project cooperation, at the same time, driving personnel training and continuing education and training of enterprise technical personnel so as to promote the dual transfer of science and technology and talents.

Scientific and technological cooperation projects extracted from the field problems will effectively promote the cultivation of college talents rooted in the production site, facing the main battlefield of national economy, and is an effective way to cultivate excellent engineering and technical talents who love the production site and production line.

During the discussion, the two sides conducted in-depth and efficient exchanges, reached a consensus on the university-enterprise cooperation plan and determined the timetable for further contact between the expert committee and the secretariat staff. At the meeting, Prof. ZHANG Weidong made detailed arrangements for the follow-up implementation of the issues discussed.
