From May 11th to 16th, a delegation led by Prof. JIAO Shuqiang, Vice President of USTB, conducted an educational exchange visit to Singapore and Hong Kong, China, aiming to deepen collaboration with higher education institutions and research organizations in both regions and further advance the international engagement of USTB.
Visit to the National University of Singapore (NUS)
During their stay in Singapore, the delegation visited the National University of Singapore (NUS) and held discussions with Prof. CHAI Kah Hin and other representatives. Prof. JIAO Shuqiang reviewed the history of cooperation between the two institutions, highlighting the fruitful achievements in fields such as mechanical engineering since the signing of a joint training program agreement in 2019. Prof. CHAI Kah Hin expressed his commitment to strengthening collaboration in technological innovation and fostering interdisciplinary talent exchange.
The delegation also visited Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). During the meetings, Prof. JIAO Shuqiang emphasized the importance of collaborative innovation in scientific research and explored new models and channels for future cooperation.
Visit to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)

During the visit at Hong Kong SAR, the delegation visited the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and held talks with Prof. DONG Cheng, Associate Vice President of PolyU, culminating in the signing of a cooperation agreement. Both sides introduced their respective institutional developments and discussed joint academic programs and research collaboration in materials science. Additionally, the delegation visited Hong Kong Advanced Research Institute of Sun Yat-Sen University for further exchanges.

During their visits to Singapore and Hong Kong, the delegation hosted meetings with faculty, students, and alumni representatives. Prof. JIAO Shuqiang briefed attendees on the USTB's latest developments, scientific achievements, and the construction progress of the Xiongan New Campus. Participants reflected on the USTB's growth and discussed ways to strengthen alumni connections and enhance international collaboration.
Speech by Prof. JIAO Shuqiang on Talent Recruitment Seminars
The delegation also organized talent recruitment seminars at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). Prof. JIAO Shuqiang highlighted the USTB's comprehensive support system for outstanding young scholars, covering research, career development, and living conditions, which enables them to contribute to national technological innovation and talent cultivation. At the seminars, Mr. DENG Bo, Director of the Office of Talent Affairs, Prof. JIAO Qingliang, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Prof. GU Wei, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, introduced the academic strengths, disciplinary features, and recruitment policies of USTB.
This visit achieved multiple cooperative agreements with universities and research institutions in Singapore and Hong Kong, China. Moving forward, USTB will continue to deepen global partnerships, promote technology transfer and interdisciplinary talent development, and contribute "USTB Wisdom" to addressing global challenges.
