The Institute for Cultural Heritage and History of Science and Technology Held its First Special Recruitment Session

On the morning of February 24th, the USTB Institute for Cultural Heritage and History of Science and Technology invited the National Centre for Archaeology to hold a special career fair for students in conference room 616 of the Metallurgical & Ecological Engineering Building. Mr. WANG Damin, Deputy Director of the National Centre for Archaeology, Mr. ZHANG Zhiguo, Director of the Archaeological Laboratory and Research Institute of Science and Technology Conservation of the National Centre for Archaeology, and Prof. QIAN Wei, Dean of the Institute for Cultural Heritage and History of Science and Technology attended and hosted the event.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. WANG Damin introduced the main functions and contents of the National Centre for Archaeology in detail, expressed the strong demand for talent from the perspective of the development of the National Centre for Archaeology itself and the whole industry, and gave students a comprehensive and detailed interpretation from its development prospects, cultural atmosphere, salary system, incentive mechanism, recruitment, and other aspects. Starting from the key work of the National Centre for Archaeology, he showed the students the connection between their major and the industry they’ll work in and their career prospects. He encouraged students to put their heart into professional knowledge learning, improve their practical ability and contribute their strength to the national archaeological work.

In the exchange and discussion session, in response to the questions of teachers and students, Mr. WANG Damin further explained in detail the career development, the written examination and interview of the recruitment, the planned number of recruits, the workplace and other questions of concern to everyone.

In his concluding speech, Prof. QIAN Wei pointed out that the National Centre for Archaeology had provided a very good working platform for our students and hoped that the graduates would actively apply for that. On behalf of all the teachers and students, Prof. QIAN Wei also presented Mr. WANG Damin with a bronze mirror with an iron battle-axe designed by our students.

This recruitment session remarks the first special recruitment event in the spring of 2023 of the Institute for Cultural Heritage and History of Science and Technology, and it also kicked off the series of recruitment activities for the graduates in the spring of 2023. In the future, the Institute will continue to improve the online and offline campus recruitment, invite more high-quality enterprises and institutions to hold recruitment activities, promote the precise match between graduate students and employers, effectively do a good job in the employment of the 2023 graduating students, and make every effort to promote the fuller and higher-quality employment of the 2023 graduating students.
