Mr. SUN Jinghong, Vice Chancellor of USTB, attended the symposium, as well as leaders of the USTB Overseas Chinese Federation, Department of United Front Work, Department of Human Resources, Office of International Affairs and Alumni Association. The leaders of the Overseas Chinese Federation, Department of Human Resources, Alumni Association, and Office of International Affairs had in-depth discussions with the delegation of Beijing Overseas Chinese Federation on topics including the gathering of overseas Chinese resources, the organization construction of Overseas Chinese Federation, bringing in overseas talents and talents, and the difficulties encountered by overseas talents after returning to China.

Mr. SHENG Jiawei said that the work of overseas Chinese affairs in universities is an important part of the United Front work. For a long time, the Department of United Front Work of our school has actively played a role in cohering the hearts of overseas Chinese, gathering their wisdom, and displaying their joint strength. The construction of overseas Chinese affairs in universities is of great significance for coordinating overseas Chinese resources, unimpeded cooperation and exchange between various departments, and promoting the bringing-in of overseas high-level talents. He pointed out that the USTB Department of United Front Work will fully support the work of the Beijing Overseas Chinese Federation and provide support and guarantee for the construction of the "greater overseas Chinese affairs."

Ms. LI Xiaofei fully affirmed the effectiveness of USTB's overseas Chinese affairs and thanked our school for its support of the work of the Beijing Overseas Chinese Federation. She said that USTB is one of the first pilot units of the working mechanism of "Local Overseas Chinese Federation + University Overseas Chinese Federation + Alumni Association," and the construction of "great overseas Chinese affairs" in USTB needs the support and cooperation of our relevant departments. She proposed to highlight the characteristics of the university under the framework of the mechanism, give full play to the role of the Overseas Chinese Federation in bringing in talent and serving returned overseas Chinese and their relatives, and effectively establish the brand of the working pattern of "greater overseas Chinese affairs," so as to contribute the overseas Chinese community strength to the development of USTB.
