In order to accelerate the construction of the smart campus for USTB and learn from the experience of our peer universities, on the afternoon of May 19th, Prof. YAN Xiangbin, Vice president of USTB, led the USTB Office of Information Technology and Xiong’an Campus Construction Headquarters to investigate the construction and application of smart campus in Fengtai Campus of the Minzu University of China (MUC). Prof. LI Jiyong, Vice Chancellor of MUC, the MUC Information Construction Management Division, and other relevant departments received the delegation.

Prof. LI Jiyong extended a warm welcome to Prof. YAN Xiangbin and his delegation. Mr. MA Chuanlian, Director of the MUC Information Construction Management Division, gave a detailed introduction to the concept, principles, process, and achievements of smart campus construction.

On-site inspection

Subsequently, Prof. YAN Xiangbin and his delegation visited the Smart Center, MUC Library and Rixin Building, the general control center, the data center, the smart library and the smart map classroom, and had an in-depth technical discussion on the computer room construction, data center construction and wisdom teaching in Fengtai Campus.

The symposium

After the visit, the two sides exchanged views and discussed the general idea, construction plan, operation mode, and management mode of the digital smart campus.

Prof. YAN Xiangbin said that the construction of the smart campus in the Fengtai Campus of Minzu University of China was exemplary, and all aspects of the construction embodied the concept of humanization and facilitation. This trip provided new ideas and valuable experience for accelerating the construction of the smart campus of USTB and the construction of the new campus in Xiong’an. He hoped that the two sides could continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the construction of smart campus in the future.
