On the afternoon of July 19^th, the Cadre Appointment Meeting and the Unveiling Ceremony of the Project Construction Headquarters of USTB Xiong’an Campus (hereinafter referred to as the "Headquarters") were held in the USTB gymnasium. Mr. WU Guilong, Chancellor of USTB; Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB; Prof. HUANG Wunan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department; Mr. SHENG Jiawei, Director of the Office of the Party Committee and Office of the President, attended the meeting. All staff members of the Headquarters and relevant responsible comrades of accredited institutions attended the meeting.

President YANG Renshu announced the decision

President YANG Renshu first read the decision on the establishment of the Project Construction Headquarters for the USTB Xiong’an Campus, the appointment of cadres, and the approval towards the establishment of the Party Branch of the Headquarters.

Representatives of newly appointed cadres made statements in turn. Everyone agrees that building the USTB Xiong’an Campus is a glorious mission, an arduous task, and a major project eagerly awaited by teachers, students, and alumni. It is also a political task to promote the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, relieve the non-capital functions of Beijing, and build the Xiong’an New Area. Everyone has expressed that under the strong leadership of the USTB Party Committee, with diligent work and excellent results in return for the organization's cultivation and trust, to build a beautiful, modern, green, and smart campus to contribute all their strength.

Chancellor WU Guilong gave a speech

Chancellor WU Guilong made clear requirements for the new cadres from five aspects, namely, to have a clear attitude on political issues, to strengthen theoretical and professional learning, to pay attention to unity and cooperation, to strengthen communication and coordination, and to be honest and self-disciplined. He stressed that the university attaches great importance to the planning and construction of the Xiong’an Campus, and will continue to support the work from all aspects, including manpower, material resources, and financial resources. The previous relevant work of the Headquarters has achieved remarkable results. He hoped that the Headquarters staff will continue to carry forward the fine style of hard work, promote the planning and construction of the Xiong’an New Area with high quality, and make greater contributions to the "Double First-Class" construction and development of the university.

After the appointment of cadres, Chancellor WU Guilong and President YANG Renshu jointly unveiled the plaque for the Project Construction Headquarters of USTB Xiong’an Campus under the witness of all Party members, cadres, and workers of the Headquarters.
