USTB Held the Review Meeting of the Cultivation Program for Undergraduates (2022 version)

On November 2nd, the Review Meeting of the Cultivation Program for Undergraduates (2022 version) was held in USTB. Prof. WANG Luning, Vice President of USTB, members of the Teaching Committee, relevant heads from the Department of Academic Affairs and Graduate School, Associate Deans from various schools, and relative personnel of each undergraduate major attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Mr. LUO Xiong, Director of the Department of Academic Affairs.

Prof. WANG Luning affirmed the efforts made by the Department of Academic Affairs and the teaching units in the formulation of the Cultivation Program for Undergraduates (2022 version). He emphasized that the Cultivation Program is an important basis for organizing and implementing teaching work, and we should ensure a comprehensive, stable, and forward-looking cultivation program.

Ms. LI Na, Deputy Director of the Department of Academic Affairs introduced the program from the perspective of the principles for the formulation, the promotion of work, and the key jobs, stressing that the Cultivation Program (2022 version) should reflect the concept of comprehensive training, implement the requirements for “Educating Five Domains Simultaneously”, strengthen the construction concept of “New Engineering Disciplines” “New Liberal Art Disciplines” and build a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary system for curriculum.

Mr. SHANG Xinsheng, Associate Dean of the Graduate School pointed out that the Cultivation Program (2022 version) would build up a cultivation system of “Educating Five Domains Simultaneously” with a Bachelor-Master system as the mainline, in order to strengthen the link-up between undergraduate and graduate teaching.

During the meeting, principals of each major reported to the Teaching Committee about the working process, course modules, credit distribution in the Cultivation Program, and the formulation situation according to the newest audit and evaluation index system. Combined with USTB’s orientation, the members of the Teaching Committee put forward suggestions on the revision of the Cultivation Program to each major, from the aspects of talent cultivation objectives, graduation requirements, course structure, and credit distribution. The Committee added that we should further strengthen the major's features, meet the industry's needs, conform to the Accreditation of engineering education and related standards, constantly optimize the curriculum and integrate the teaching content.

Mr. LUO Xiong affirmed the review work from the members of the Teaching Committee, and he hoped that all schools and majors could review and revise according to their opinions to further improve the Cultivation Program for Undergraduate(2022 version).
