On October 13^th, Prof. Said Sanatovich Shaumaov, Vice President of Tashkent State Transport University (THTU), visited USTB for communication and exchange. Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, met with Prof. Shaumaov and his delegation. Prof. ZHANG Dawei, Director of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), Ms. LI Bei, Associate Director of OIA, and other relevant officials of OIA attended the meeting.

On behalf of USTB, Prof. YANG Renshu extended a warm welcome to the arrival of Prof. Shaumaov and his delegation and gave a short introduction to the USTB's founding, discipline construction, and international cooperation. He noted that when USTB celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2022, we received a reply letter from President XI Jinping to the school's senior professors. This is the second letter USTB has received from President XI in recent years, which is deeply encouraging and exciting. Prof. YANG Renshu stressed that USTB will carry forward the spirit of the two important reply letters and hoped the two schools will take this meeting as a starting point to contribute wisdom and strength to constructing a " community with a shared future for mankind."

Prof. Shaumaov expressed his sincere thanks to our school for its warm reception. He briefly introduced the history of THTU, the discipline construction, and the cooperation mode of industry-university research. He pointed out that the Belt and Road Initiative has expanded cooperation and exchanges between China and Uzbekistan and other four Central Asian countries, especially in the field of education, which has brought unprecedented development opportunities to Central Asian countries. He looked forward to taking this meeting as an opportunity to establish cooperation between the two universities in student exchanges, teacher visits, scientific research, and experimental innovation and further deepen the relationship between the two universities.

Visiting the USTB History Museum

Before the meeting, Prof. Shaumarov and his delegation visited the University History Museum and learned about USTB's development history, culture, and traditions. Prof. Otajon Jurakulovich Omonov, Vice Rector of THTU, and Ms. Aziza Khasankizi Radjabova, Secretary, participated in the exchange activity.
