From July 23rd to 24th, USTB, Beijing Computational Science Research Center and Zhengzhou University jointly hosted the second online session of the "Computational and Applied Mathematics Seminar". More than 100 experts and scholars and graduate students from Peking University, Shanghai Jiaotong University; the University of Dundee, UK; University of Calgary, Canada; Brown University, University of Iowa, Virginia Polytechnic University, the University of Kansas, University of Tennessee, U.S.A., Hong Kong Baptist University, and other colleges and universities and research institutes at home and abroad attended the seminar.
During the two-day seminar, 12 internationally renowned experts including Prof. Shu Qiwang from Brown University, Prof. WANG Xiaoping from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Prof. HUANG Weizhang from the University of Kansas, Prof. JIN Shi from Shanghai Jiaotong University, made academic reports on the numerical methods of electromagnetic fields, machine learning methods, and other cutting-edge scientific problems in the field of computational and applied mathematics, and shared the latest research results. Scholars attending the meeting had in-depth discussions and carried out exchanges of ideas.
This seminar provides a research platform for experts and scholars in the field of computational and applied mathematics to exchange academic ideas and scientific payoffs, promotes communication and cooperation between the experts and scholars in this area, widened the research horizon, laid a solid foundation for the intersection of different areas, and played an important role for the further development of computational mathematics discipline of our university.
