To widely absorb new campus construction experience from different universities, to better carry out USTB Xiong'an campus’ planning and construction work, from August 3^rd to August 6^th, the Project Headquarters of USTB Xiong'an Campus Construction (hereinafter referred to as the "Headquarters") to Xi'an to investigate universities’ new campus planning and construction work. Prof. SUN Jinghong, Vice Chancellor of USTB; Mr. JIN Rendong, Deputy Director of the Headquarters, and relevant staff of the Headquarters attended the investigation activities.

The delegation carries out investigation and research work at XJTU

Prof. SUN Jinghong and his delegation visited the Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU)’s iHarbour Campus, visited the Digital Exhibition Hall, the Smart Campus Operation Center, the Scientific Research Building of XJTU, and the Medical and Chemical industry plate, etc., to get a detailed understanding of the planning and construction achievements of the Western Science iHarbour.

Mr. CHAI Wei, Vice President of XJTU, welcomed Prof. SUN Jinghong and his delegation and made a special introduction on the planning concept, construction mode, and operation status of the Western Science iHarbour. 

Prof. SUN Jinghong, on behalf of USTB, thanked XJTU for their warm reception. He pointed out that the Western Science iHarbour is a trinity of "Campus, Science Park, and Community" and integration of innovation, technology, service, and industry, and can be regarded as a model for the construction of new campuses of domestic universities. Prof. SUN Jinghong said that in the next step, USTB will continue to strengthen communication and exchange with XJTU, actively learn advanced experience and practices, apply them to the planning and construction of the USTB Xiong’an campus, and strive to create a new situation for the development of USTB.Carry out investigation in other universities in Xi'an

During the trip to Xi'an, members of the Headquarters also investigated the new campus of Xidian University, the new campus of Shaanxi Normal University as well as other colleges and universities. The Headquarters and the leaders of the universities’ capital construction department communicated with each other on campus planning, construction mode, and timely sequence, building function demand collection, operation management, and other aspects, and deeply understood the advanced experience and practices and problems to be avoided in the planning and construction process of the new campus.

At present, USTB’s Xiong'an campus construction work is in the overall planning of solicitation for the stage. This investigation opens up a vision and way of thinking, the headquarters will deepen the experience and practice of other universities into specific work, further grasp the function, layout, style, and details of the overall campus plan, and do a good job in the planning and construction of the Xiong’an campus.
