USTB and Schneider Electric (China) Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On the morning of June 9th, a signing ceremony for the purpose of establishing strategic cooperation between USTB and Schneider Electric (China) was held. Prof. XUE Qingguo, Vice Chancellor and Vice President of USTB, Ms. WANG Jie, Vice President of Schneider Electric (China), as well as other department and section heads were in attendance. Prof. ZHAO Zhiyi, Dean of the School of Advanced Engineering, presided over the ceremony.

Prof. XUE Qingguo gave a warm welcome and thanked Ms. WANG Jie and her delegation for their visit. He said that interdisciplinary training and integration between industry and education played a major role in boosting higher education and the cultivation of innovative talents. He said that the two sides should leverage their respective advantages to promote industry-university cooperation and engage in collaborative scientific research, platform building, technology exchange and talent training, so that there would be more high-end inter-disciplinary talents to meet the requirements of national development.

Ms. WANG Jie gave a report on the operation and orientation of Schneider Electric (China). She said the company hoped to combine its advantages, including its abundant industrial experience and automation-related digital innovative technologies, with that of USTB’s advantages in theoretical knowledge, so as to cultivate comprehensive talents through industry-university cooperation.

At the signing ceremony, Prof. XUE Qingguo, on behalf of USTB, and Ms. WANG Jie, on behalf of Schneider Electric (China), signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two sides will work together to build a collaborative practical teaching base to combine their mutual advantages in order to pursue scientific and technological innovation, to organize and promote technical competitions, and share employment information. In addition, practical research, technological innovation and product development would be encouraged in order to promote talent training in China's green intelligent manufacturing field.
