On October 21st, the 15th International Graduate Scholarship Fair (Beijing) (IGSF for short) was held in USTB Stadium. Over 50 world-renowned universities and institutes from nearly 20 countries took part in the activity, including the University of Cambridge, University of Warwick, Polytech Group, UNSW Sydney, Politecnico di Milano, German Academic Exchange Service, etc., providing overseas postgraduate projects and scholarship information to Chinese college students. On the evening of the 20th, Prof. LYU Zhaoping, Vice President of USTB, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He expressed a warm welcome to the guests participating in the activity, and he hoped that the international colleagues in the education field would continue to deepen exchange and cooperation. On the same day, Ms. TIAN Lulu, Deputy Secretary General of the China Scholarship Council (CSC), and Prof. ZHANG Weidong, Vice President of USTB, had a close on-spot interaction and exchange with the representatives and students participating in the Fair.

The activities included the on-site consultation and special publicity meeting, in which representatives from different universities introduced subject settings, advantageous majors, enrollment policies, and scholarship information to the students. In the meantime, eight institutes and universities, including CSC, RMIT University, University of Southern Queensland, Griffith University, and so on. Nearly 3000 people from USTB and other domestic universities had face-to-face, one-on-one communication and exchange with project managers based on their plans of studying abroad. Students who were eligible for foreign admission can also obtain an offer on the spot. The on-spot atmosphere was warm. The activities were carried out in an orderly manner with good effect.

The IGSF hosted by CSC has been held for 15 consecutive sessions since 2009. The IGSF held this year is the first off-line fair after the Covid-19 pandemic. After the USTB station, the Fair will be held in Xi'an, Wuhan, and Shanghai successively. This activity aims to cooperate with the implementation of national construction of high-level universities' government-sponsored postgraduate overseas projects, providing detailed overseas postgraduate scholarship information for students, strengthening cooperation of postgraduate education between the domestic universities and high-level universities abroad, and setting up a face-to-face communication platform between the world first-class universities and the domestic students.
