In order to further study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and continue to implement the Spirit of President XI Jinping’s important reply to all Pakistani students at USTB, the China-Pakistan Youth Forum for People-to-People Exchanges on Science was held at USTB from November 2nd to 3rd. The Forum was jointly held by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange (CCIPE) and USTB. The theme of the Forum was "Scientific and technological innovation boosts the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and the exchange of youth from the two countries about the construction of a community of shared future.”

In his speech, Mr. WU Guilong said that USTB will thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, continue to enrich and improve the science, technology, and people-to-people exchange system between Chinese and Pakistani youth, further strengthen interaction, mutual trust, and communication between Chinese and Pakistani youth, and guide young students to contribute to promoting people-to-people ties and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Mr. DU Kewei delivered a speech
Mr. DU Kewei said in his speech that holding this forum is a concrete measure to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and the spirit of President XI Jinping’s reply to all Pakistani students at USTB. The foundation of people-to-people exchanges lies in the people, the hope lies in the youth. He hoped that the youth from the two countries would strengthen the awareness of people-to-people exchanges, inherit the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and constantly write a new chapter for China and Pakistan to cooperate to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Ms. Afifa Shajia Awais said in her speech that China has become the preferred destination for Pakistani youth to study abroad. The overseas students actively promote Chinese culture and become the envoy and bridge for bilateral friendship. She hoped that the youth of the two countries would further strengthen exchanges, promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields, make contributions to the economic development of both countries and boost the construction of the China -Pakistan Economic Corridor. She wished that the China-Pakistan friendship will last forever.
Mr. WANG Qinglin delivered a speech
Mr. WANG Qinglin said in his speech that this forum has given a new connotation and great significance to the continuous deepening of China-Pakistan cooperation in education, science and technology, people-to-people exchanges, and other fields, and has put forward proposals from three aspects: strengthening scientific and technological openness and cooperation, deepening people to people exchanges and mutual learning, and cultivating young talents.

In her keynote speech, Ms. CHEN Yinghui elaborated on the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and China's opening-up policy and introduced the achievements of education opening up and China-Pakistan education exchanges and cooperation. She said that during Pakistan's Prime Minister's visit to China, this Forum was held at a timely time and of great significance. She encouraged the youth of China and Pakistan to strengthen solidarity and cooperation, promote high-quality development, continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the education field and expand the opening up of education. She hoped that the youth of China and Pakistan would work together to promote the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and consolidate the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.

Ms. Saira Atta said in her keynote speech that this Forum is an important measure to implement the Spirit of President XI Jinping's reply to all Pakistani students, and an important meeting to deepen China-Pakistan cooperation in education, science & technology, promote the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and discuss how to build a community with a shared future for mankind through joint efforts. The Ministry of Education of Pakistan attaches great importance to China-Pakistan education cooperation and expects the two countries to continue to strengthen communication in education, science & technology, and culture, and achieve more positive and pragmatic cooperation results. She thanked China for its fraternal support to Pakistan during the COVID-19 and flood disasters and wished the friendship between China and Pakistan to live forever.
Mr. Khan Muhammad Wazir delivered a keynote speech
In his keynote speech, Mr. Khan Muhammad Wazir said that in the " Belt and Road" initiative and the cooperation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor construction, he expected the two countries to further promote the projects of science, technology, and people-to-people exchanges, strengthen cultural mutual learning, promote regional connectivity, and promote rapid economic growth and sustainable development of the two countries.

With the theme of "falling in love with China and being the envoy of China-Pakistan friendship", Mr. Arif elaborated on his original intention of writing letters to President XI Jinping and his excitement of receiving the reply, and said that he would continue to practice what he preaches in the future, be a good ambassador of China-Pakistan friendship, and contribute to building a bridge for China-Pakistan youth exchanges.

Mr. PI Jun delivered a speech on the theme of "Forming a lasting friendship on the road of common development", he hopes to make due contributions to the friendship between China and Pakistan youth through cultural publication work, and looks forward to build a more pure and solid friendship between China and Pakistan youth in the struggle to establish a community with a shared future for mankind.

In his video speech, Mr. Ahmat M. Issa focused on the role of youth in the "the Belt and Road" initiative , and emphasized that youth, as the new force and pillar of the future, should shoulder more responsibility and play a greater role in promoting the "the Belt and Road" initiative and consolidating the friendship along the "the Belt and Road" initiative.

Under the theme of "Development and potential of China-Pakistan scientific and technological cooperation", Ms. Di Yuna advocates that Chinese and Pakistani youth should use scientific research to serve China-Pakistan Economic Corridor cooperation, use scientific and technological exchanges to enhance mutual understanding between the youth from the two countries, and use scientific and technological education and cultivating for young scientific and technological workers to promote the overall economic development and social progress of China and Pakistan.
Exchanges between Chinese and foreign teachers and students
Presided by Prof. YIN Jing, Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages and Literature at the USTB School of Foreign Studies, 20 Chinese and foreign students representatives from different fields carried out comprehensive and in-depth exchanges on topics such as "striving to be the leader of innovation", "loving science and loving the motherland" and "striving hard at the right time”, etc. The Chinese and Pakistani young students who attended the meeting expressed that they should strive to be at the forefront of science and technology, help build the community with a shared future for mankind, and strive to become the "pioneer" of the times.

Prof. WANG Luning introduced the history, future prospects, faculty members, scientific research, and other basic information of USTB to the guests, and emphatically introduced the major scientific research achievements made by members from the School of Materials Science and Engineering over the past 70 years facing the frontier of international disciplines. In the new historical period, members of the School of Materials Science and Engineering will pass on their achievements to build an international metallurgical materials education and research center.
Mr. Ahsan Feroze delivered a speech
Mr. Ahsan Feroze, Director of the International Linkage Department at Pakistan Science Foundation, said that the Pakistan Science Foundation is interested in communicating with similar international institutions around the world, and hopes to further strengthen international cooperation between China and Pakistan through this Forum, active the potential of advanced technology countries, and fulfill the role of promoter.
Prof. Osman Hansan, Vice President of the National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan; Prof. Khai Uz Zaman, Vice President of the Bannu University of Science and Technology; and Prof. Sardar Khan, Vice President of Kohat University of Science and Technology, raised prospects for international cooperation and material research cooperation. They hoped that the two countries would strengthen scientific and technological exchanges, actively carry out various projects that can not only cultivate the professional knowledge of Chinese and Pakistani teachers and students, but also build a bridge between China and Pakistan, constantly expand the breadth and depth of educational cooperation and exchanges, and promote the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
Prof. Yasir Nawab, Dean of National Textile University, Pakistan; Prof. Jamil Ahmad, Vice President of Hazara University; Prof. Hidayat Ullah Shah, Prof. Dil Faraz Khan of the Bannu University of Science and Technology; Prof. Adnan Ali of the Government College University, Faisalabad; and Prof. Mathillah Khan of Kohat University of Science and Technology shared their own thoughts on materials education research and hoped that China and Pakistan would actively carry out various cooperation in the form of teacher-student exchanges, joint research projects and joint publications, constantly improve the quality of materials science education and research, establish a platform for sharing educational resources, and provide talent support and intellectual security for the construction of the “the Belt and Road” initiative.

Prof. Waheed S.Khan, National Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Khan, Pakistan; Prof. Ghulam Nabi of Gujarat University; Prof. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry of COMSATS University Islamabad; Prof. MOU Wangzhong of KTH Royal Institute of Technology; Prof. ZHAO Lidong, Vice President of School of Materials at BEIHANG University; Prof. Zubair Iqbal, Vice President of Pakistan Institute of Materials Science of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology; and Prof. CAO Wenbin, Vice President of USTB School of Materials Science and Engineering introduced the research situation in key fields through the aspects of biomedical medical materials, thermoelectric refrigeration materials, nanomaterials, application design of machine learning, and expand around the innovative practice of materials science and engineering discipline.
Prof. LIN Yuanhua, Dean of the School of Materials at Tsinghua University; Prof. MAI Liqiang, Dean of the School of Materials of Wuhan University of Technology; and Prof. Khurram Shehzad, President of the Pakistan Society for Materials Science at Zhejiang University based on the history revolution of the university, introduced the development and future prospects of the university's materials discipline, and jointly discussed new ideas for scientific research, talent cultivation and technological development in the future materials science field.

All experts have agreed that the materials science discipline should constantly improve the quality of materials science education and research based on the needs of future economic and social development for technology and talents when a new round of technological revolution and industrial reform is coming. At the same time, they also hope to continue to enrich and improve the China-Pakistan youth science, technology, and people-to-people exchanges system, boost the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor with scientific and technological innovation, actively build a bridge for China-Pakistan youth to communicate and study, and contribute to building the community with a shared future for mankind.
Lab manager introduced the experimental equipment to Pakistani students
On November 2nd and 3rd, the Workshop for Pakistani students in first-class disciplines was successfully carried out at USTB. This Workshop is mainly about learning the experimental operation and knowing the experimental equipment. The Pakistani students are led by experimental teachers and student volunteers from USTB. They introduced 16 kinds of scientific research equipment, including scanning electron microscope, nanomechanical probe, and so on, from the aspects of equipment startup, sample loading, vacuum pumping, observation or detection, data output, and data analysis, and taught the main purpose, principle of use, and data form of the equipment. After demonstrations from the lab manager, students can use the equipment in person and practice.
Experimental module jointly assembled by Chinese and Pakistani students
The youth of the two countries had in-depth exchanges on materials science discipline expertise, experimental equipment improvement needs, and other aspects, and had a more accurate understanding of the research content in the field of materials science. The Workshop has built a platform for China-Pakistan youth exchanges and promoted mutual trust and communication, deepening the practice between China and Pakistan youth.
The China-Pakistan Youth Forum for People-to-People Exchanges on Science has deeply studied, publicized and implemented the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, adhered to the Spirit of President XI Jinping's reply to all Pakistani Students as the guide. The Forum is high-level, fruitful, and far-reaching. It has not only the wonderful presentation of the strategic vision of special guests, but also the warm exchanges and sharing atmosphere between China and Pakistan youth, further condensing and deepening the "the Belt and Road" spirit of "mutual learning, mutual benefit, and win-win", achieving the goal of "promoting joint construction and common sharing through educational exchanges and cooperation, and building a community of shared future for the youth of the two countries".
