On December 7^th, Mr. ZHUANG Rongliang, Vice Mayor of Xiamen City, led a team to USTB for communication and exchange. Mr. WU Guilong, Chancellor of USTB, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Prof. ZHANG Weidong, Vice President of USTB.

Mr. WU Guilong expressed a warm welcome to the coming of Mr. ZHANG Rongliang's delegation. He first introduced the construction and development of USTB. Then, he noted that Xiamen thought highly of scientific innovation, constantly strengthened cooperation with universities and other resources, and made joint efforts to promote the construction of an innovative city. Mr. WU said that USTB and Xiamen had conducted a series of cooperative programs before and signed a strategic cooperative framework agreement this year. He hoped that while continuing to strengthen the original cooperation, both sides could continue to deepen communication and exchange, give full play to USTB's scientific innovation, transformation, and talent cultivation, and jointly promote practical cooperation to advance the high-quality development of both sides.

Mr. ZHUANG Rongliang introduced the history and development of Xiamen. He noted that the city burdened the mission to promote innovation-driven connotative development. It had an urgent eagerness for innovation. He hoped that through this exchange, both sides could strengthen their cooperation in scientific research, joint construction of innovative research institutes, and talent cultivation, further carry out the strategic cooperation framework agreement, and establish a long-term and comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship.

Mr. YANG Zhiguo, Associate Dean of the Department of Technology Transfer, introduced the current situation, mode, and cases of industry-university-research cooperation in USTB and gave targeted suggestions on the direction of USTB-Xiamen industry-university-research cooperation in the future, hoping to deepen cooperation with Xiamen continuously.

Later, Dr. KONG Shuguang, Director of Xiamen Science and Technology Bureau, introduced the development of Xiamen science and technology as well as the resources and policy in scientific innovation. Mr. CHEN Shuilong from Xiang'an District introduced the general development, industrial development, and investment policy of Xiang'an District.

Prof. QIN Mingling, Dean of the USTB Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology, introduced the basic information of material discipline and as well as the institute. His introduction focused on faculty team building, scientific research projects, representative outcomes, and cooperation ideas. Later, both sides had an exchange on issues they were interested in.
