On the morning of October 18^th, Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, and his delegation went to Guanzhuang Campus to investigate epidemic prevention and control, safety, and stability work and put forward specific requirements for talent cultivation, ideological and political education, continuing education, and non-academic training. Prof. YANG and his delegation first comprehensively inspected the epidemic prevention and control work on the campus and conducted field research on health monitoring units, logistics service centers, nucleic acid detection stations, the Institute for Multidisciplinary Innovation, and some other locations. Cordially communicated with first-year graduate students to learn more about their studies and life on the Guanzhuang campus.

Mr. WU Guanxiong, Secretary General of the Party Committee at Guanzhuang Campus, presided over the symposium. Prof. NING Xiaojun, Dean of Guanzhuang Campus, gave a work report, introducing the personnel structure of the campus, the current status of academic and non-academic education, and the thinking about the future development and positioning of the campus. Prof. WANG Rongming, Dean of the Institute for Multidisciplinary Innovation, made a brief report on the work progress and the next step of the Institute.

Prof. WANG Luning pointed out that Guanzhuang Campus should strengthen exchanges and cooperation with local governments, establish close ties with Chaoyang District Government, rely on the campus’s scientific research and teaching platform, expand ways of thinking, cooperate actively and produce good results in scientific and technological services and basic education.

Prof. LV Zhaoping affirmed the achievements of the Guanzhuang Campus in epidemic prevention and control, as well as continuing education. He hoped that the campus should combine continuing education with the “Double First-class” construction of USTB, and develop new ideas and initiatives in teaching materials building, entrepreneurial base construction, international education, etc.

Prof YANG Renshu made a concluding speech, fully affirming the efforts of Guanzhuang Campus in epidemic prevention and control, laboratory safety, student work team construction, student ideological and political education, etc. He stressed that Guanzhuang Campus should closely integrate continuing education and non-academic education with the talent cultivation work of USTB, to play a greater role in the talent cultivation and social services aspects of USTB.
