On the morning of February 16th, Mr. ZHAO Shiwei, Secretary General of Dongsheng Town, Haidian District, and his delegation visited USTB. Mr. WU Guilong, Chancellor of USTB, Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, Prof. SUN Jinghong, Vice Chancellor of USTB, and Prof. ZHANG Weidong, Vice President of USTB attended the meeting. At the meeting, Prof. YANG Renshu, on behalf of USTB, extended a warm welcome to Mr. ZHAO Shiwei and his delegation and introduced in detail the discipline construction and scientific research level of USTB. He expressed the hope that the two sides will focus on the major strategic needs of the country, strengthen the cooperation between USTB and Beijing, give full play to the advantages of Dongsheng Town in the transformation of achievements and the advantages of USTB in technology innovation, thus promote the construction of a “multi-channel, multi-level and all-round” cooperation pattern and one-stop implementation of industry-university-research collaboration.

Mr. ZHAO Shiwei introduced the historical evolution and economic development of Dongsheng Town in detail, hoping to continuously strengthen communication and exchange with USTB, carry out close cooperation with USTB based on its own industrial advantages, and continuously improve the efficiency of local economic development enabled by science and technology around the “Four-center Construction” of Beijing.

Subsequently, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges on the cultivation of high-quality talents, the transformation of scientific & technological achievements, the construction of innovative brands, and the cooperation and education of enterprises at the university and local levels.

In his concluding speech, Mr. WU Guilong thanked for the concern and support from Dongsheng Town for the development of USTB. He hoped that the two sides could further strengthen institutional communication and exchanges, and deepen win-win cooperation in the aspects of educational scope, achievement transformation, talent cultivation, and basic education, thus promoting effective cooperation in all aspects and constantly achieving new results.

Before the meeting, Mr. ZHAO Shiwei and his delegation visited the State Key Laboratory for Advanced Metals and Materials (SKL) and the University History Museum.

Mr. XIN Guo, the mayor of Dongsheng Town, and other personnel in charge of the functional department from Dongsheng Town; as well as relevant personnel from the USTB Office of the Party Committee, USTB Office of the President, USTB Department of Human Resources, USTB Department of Science and Technology, USTB Department of Asset Management participated in the exchange activities.
