Mr. Simon Bradbury, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of DMU Visited USTB for Communication and Exchange

On April 11th, a delegation from the UK led by Mr. Simon Bradbury, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of De Montfort University (DMU), visited USTB for communication and exchange. Prof. JIAO Shuqiang, Vice President of USTB, met with the guests, and the two sides held in-depth discussions on talent cultivation and scientific research collaboration.

Prof. JIAO Shuqiang introduced USTB's educational initiatives and collaborative achievements with DMU. He noted that over the years, the two institutions have leveraged the Confucius Institute as a platform to achieve fruitful outcomes in faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and other areas. In the future, both sides could further expand collaborative dimensions to contribute to advancing friendly cooperation between China and the UK in education and scientific research.

Mr. Simon Bradbury spoke highly of USTB's remarkable talent cultivation and scientific innovation achievements. He emphasized the solid foundation of collaboration between the two institutions and proposed building on their strengths to explore new fields of cooperation and innovative partnership models.

During the subsequent discussion session, relevant personnel from different departments and schools of USTB briefed Mr. Simon Bradbury on the progress of internationalization efforts and the development of various schools. The two sides exchanged views on joint education programs, student exchange initiatives, academic collaboration, and other topics.

3.jpgVisit the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Prior to the meeting, Mr. Simon Bradbury and his delegation visited the University History Museum and the student entrepreneurial projects at the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The tour provided the guests with an in-depth understanding of USTB's historical evolution, educational accomplishments, and hands-on practices in fostering innovative talent.

Representatives from the Office of International Affairs, the Graduate School, the School of Mechanical Engineering, and other relevant departments and schools attended the meeting.
