In the Tokyo Olympics track and field shot put competition, Chinese athlete Gong Lijiao who is also a student of USTB won the 22nd gold for the Chinese team!

Gong Lijiao was admitted to the School of Economics and Management of USTB in September 2007 as an undergraduate. As a Chinese track and field athlete, she has won the women's shot put world championship many times. At 9:35 on August 1, 2021, the women's shot put final was ushered in. She won the championship as expected.

USTB students and teachers watch the competition collectively and cheer for Gong.

USTB is tightly bound to the Olympics. Beijing successfully bid for the Olympics on July 13, 2001. Two of the bid presenters graduated from USTB.

In 2008, USTB successfully hosted the Beijing Olympic Games for Judo and Taekwondo competitions, Beijing Paralympic Games wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby, which was one of the venues with the longest running time and the heaviest tasks. USTB won the advanced collective of Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

More than 5,000 USTB Olympic volunteers actively devote themselves to Olympic-related services.

The 1st Capital University Track and Field Games was held here. USTB has hosted this event 5 times, ranking second among universities in the capital, second only to Tsinghua University. Next year, we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of USTB and will host the 60th Student Track and Field Games of Capital Universities. USTB has an excellent sports tradition.
