To make full use of the advantages of young experts with abundant energy and innovative thinking, to implement the ideas of relying on scientists to run the journal, and to cultivate reserve forces for the editorial board, the  Chinese Journal of Engineering formally established the first Youth Editorial Board in March 2021, in the purpose of further promote the develpment and improvement of the journal. Since its establishment, the experts of the Youth Editorial Board have been active and have shown high enthusiasm in the building of the journal. To promote a deeper understanding of the journal among young experts, increase the communication and interaction between editors and experts, and further stimulate the vitality of experts, the Editorial Office held the inaugural meeting of the First Youth Editorial Board of  Chinese Journal of Engineering  and 2021 Special Issue Seminar on July 12 at the Conference Hall on the fourth floor of the Library. Prof. WANG Luning, Vice President of USTB, Prof. WU Aixiang, Editor-in-Chief of  Chinese Journal of Engineering , attended the event. More than 30 experts, members of the first Youth Editorial Board present at the meeting, the meeting was hosted by Prof. JI Shujuan, Director of Journal Publishing Center.

Prof. WANG Luning, on behalf of USTB, expressed his gratitude towards the Youth Editorial Board members and experts for their long-term support and assistance to the construction of the journal.

Prof. WU Aixiang reviewed the history of  Chinese Journal of Engineering ,  introduced the achievements made in the past,  and affirmed the efforts made in recent years.

Prof. WANG Luning and Prof. WU Aixiang awarded certificates to the members of the Youth Editorial Board.

Later, Prof. WANG Luning and Prof. WU Aixiang issued letters of appointment to all members of the Youth Editorial Board presented.

Prof. CAO Bing, Deputy editor-in-chief and Director of Editorial Office of  Chinese Journal of Engineering , introduced to the experts on the basic information, recent development and future vision of  Chinese Journal of Engineering , and announced the publication plan of the Special Issue.

The successful convening of the meeting will help the experts and the editorial board to further clarify the future development direction, and laid a solid foundation for the improvement of the academic level and influence of the journal.
