On November 3^rd, Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, and Prof. HUANG Wunan, Vice President of USTB, led a delegation to the China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC Group) to negotiate school-enterprise cooperation. The two sides held work negotiations and signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Mr. CHEN Jianguang, Chairman of MCC Group; Mr. QU Yang and Mr. ZHU Guangxia, Vice Presidents of MCC Group, attended the meeting and agreement signing ceremony.

Mr. CHEN Jianguang expressed a warm welcome to the USTB delegation on behalf of MCC Group. He said, “USTB, as the of Cradle of Iron and Steel Engineers, has a long history and strong research strength. It has made outstanding contributions to the technological progress of the iron and steel industry in China and even in the world. MCC Group and USTB have the same origin, travel together in the new era, and share the same conviction in the new journey.” He hoped that by taking this contract as an opportunity, the two sides could innovate the cooperation mode in scientific research, talent training, and achievement transformation, expand the cooperation space, jointly build a new model of school-enterprise cooperation, and write a new chapter of high-quality development.

On behalf of USTB, Prof. YANG Renshu thanked MCC Group for its long-term support for USTB, introduced the development of USTB in recent years, and new achievements in the reform of talent training. He said, “MCC Group is the earliest iron and steel industry construction force in China. We are both the pioneers and main force of China's iron and steel industry. USTB has long maintained close cooperation with MCC Group, with a solid foundation for cooperation and deep friendship.” USTB is vigorously promoting the reform of talent cultivation mode of “career development-focused, dual-mentorship (university + enterprise) system.” He hoped the two sides could continually cooperate in scientific research and talent training, deepen the integration of industry-university, and jointly contribute to building a world leader in science and technology.

Subsequently, Prof. HUANG Wunan and Mr. ZHU Guangxia signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement between USTB and MCC Group on behalf of the two sides.
