On October 21^st, the signing ceremony of strategic cooperation agreement between USTB and Metallurgical Industry Press (MIP) was held in our university.

Before the signing ceremony, the participants watched the promotional video of USTB together. Then, Vice President Mr. WANG Luning delivered a speech. On behalf of USTB, he extended a warm welcome to Metallurgical Industry Press and gave a brief introduction of USTB. He said that Metallurgical Industry Press, as an influential publishing institution in the industry, has always adhered to providing first-class services for the metallurgical industry. The establishment of strategic cooperative relationship between the two sides will certainly create a new pattern of win-win cooperation and jointly help the development of China's steel industry to a new level.

During the signing ceremony, Prof. YANG Renshu, President of USTB, and Mr. SU Changyong, Chancellor of MIP, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of USTB and Metallurgical Industry Press respectively under the common witness of the leaders and guests attending the meeting. In the future, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in seven fields, including the construction of professional teaching materials, the publication of scientific monographs and the popularization of metallurgical science and technology, and continuously promote the construction of key disciplines and scientific and technological innovation of the university, and serve the high-quality development of the industry.

Later, Mr. SU Changyong donated nearly 6,000 books on metallurgical science and related fields to the school on behalf of Metallurgical Industry Press at the book donation ceremony. And Prof. YANG Renshu accepted the donation on behalf of the school and presented Mr. SU with a certificate of donation.

During the meeting, participants had an in-depth exchange of views on the future development and cooperation model of both sides.

In his speech, Mr. SU Changyong thanked USTB for its long-term support and help to Metallurgical Industry Press. He pointed out that USTB has trained a large number of talents and made irreplaceable contributions to the development of China's steel industry. As an alumnus, he is even more excited and proud of the achievements made by the school in recent years. He hopes that on the arrival of the 70^th anniversary of USTB and the Press, that the two sides could take the opportunity of establishing strategic cooperative relationship, to further expand the cooperation scale, and continuously strengthen communication and exchange on the basis of good cooperation in the early stage; Focusing on the goal of USTB’s "Double First-Class" construction and the development vision of the Press' "Three Orientations", and make joint efforts to promote China’s transformation from a country with steel to a country with steel superpower.

Prof. YANG Renshu thanked Metallurgical Industry Press for its long-term care and support to USTB, and fully affirmed the important role of Metallurgical Industry Press in the industry, especially in the development of metallurgical industry. He pointed out that, as the first institution of Higher Education in the steel industry established by the People's Republic of China, after nearly 70 years of development, the university has been born, developed and strengthened by steel. USTB has thoroughly carried out the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating talents, steadily promoted the construction of "Double First-class" and committed to making contribution to the development of China's steel industry. He hoped that both sides could give full play to their respective advantages, continuously increase the level of cooperation, enrich the connotation of cooperation, consolidate cooperation and friendship. Build a strategic scientific and technological force for the healthy development of enterprises in the service industry, and make greater contributions to the realization of the dream of the steel superpower.
