National Materials Corrosion and Protection Data Center was established by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2019 as one of the first 20 national scientific data centers in China. Under a data-driven new mode, the center is dedicated in the R&D of advanced corrosion-resistant materials and corrosion management tools, integrating fundamental research, applied technologies, technological transfer and sharing service. The center has created an intelligent corrosion big data acquisition and sharing network via smart corrosion sensors and IOT technologies, and has developed big-data analytical and prediction methods for materials service evaluation. The center, together with over 20 national field corrosion test stations in typical atmospheric, soil and water environments in China and the partners from key industries, has built a world-leading platform for the production and accumulation of material service data and also for the collaboration in corrosion research and education.
